Upgrade
Ok, I am totally new to the Linuxworld, so probably a not so clever question, but I want to upgrade my existing Linux configuration (Redhat 6.2) to Redhat 7.0. Is this possible without removing old distribution or do I have to start from scratch?
Thnx |
well, rh72 is out, so i'd go straight to that.
but i *THINK* that rh62 was the first upgradable version of redhat, so you should have an option to upgrade it to the new version. personally, i'd just upgrade the relevant rpm's by myself, but that's up to you. |
Ok, thnx...Gonna try it.

I did it this past weekend!
I upgraded my RedHat 6.2 box to 7.0. It went very very good, had no issues. I didn't upgrade to 7.2 because I only had the 7.0 cd's, but I did upgrade my kernel to 2.4.17. When you install make sure you select upgrade, and that's it.
