Updating Java on RedHat Linux 8.0

I was trying to update the version of java on my machine running RedHat linux 8.0. I downloaded the rpm and ran it

rpm -iv j2sdk<version>.rpm

installed properly to /usr/java/j2sdk<version>

then I ran

# java -version ..

its still showing me the old version .. I was wondering how to link it to the new version ..

can someone help me with this ..
