updating apache!

im running an old version of redhat 6.2 on a sparc station 5. i want to run apache off it and it already has an old version compiled into the system.

Server version: Apache/1.3.12 (Unix) (Red Hat/Linux)

i would like to run the newest version if possible but im unable to choose the best way to do it.

should i uninstall apache1.3.12, and how would i go about doing that

or is there away to update apache1.3.12 to 2.0.48?

thanks all!
