Updating 9.1 to 9.2 pro (major problem), Monitor freaks out during install

Has anybody had their video card freak out on install or upgrade from one version of SuSE to the next ?
I am currently upgrading from 9.1 to 9.2 pro... everything seems to be going good and then the monitor freaks out, the machine seems to freeze up. The particular video card in this machine is on board and seems to be quite weak by my standards. Could it be a bad video card ? Is it more likely a driver issue ? I am lost on this one... any info needed, please let me know... I want to get this installed.
