update ubuntu 14.04 problem

When i try to update my Ubuntu 14.04 from the terminal using

Code:
sudo apt-get update
things work really fine.

But when I try to update my system using Software Updater, it pops a message that This requires installation of untrusted packages

Then the on hitting the OK key the updater window disappears without updating.

What to do now?

Did you highlight "Mark Upgrades"?

In the software center after you update, is there an option that say "Installed Upgradeable"? If so click on it.
My system is already updated & upgraded so I can only show you some of it, also it is different than yours.

But here goes, I can update system which only updates packages available,
but, if there any packages that are upgradeable, there would be another line in my package manager saying "Installed (Upgradeable)".
That line would be below the line I have my cursor on in the attachment below. If that line appears,I would highlight it & select Mark Upgrades at the top of screen.
Cursor didn't show so just look at it, I may have updates tomorrow after Jessie becomes stable, then I can show you.
