Update RHEL 5.3 without the support.

Hello
I hae 5 servers with RHEL 5.3. I aim to cut costs.
I just wonder:

1. Can I buy the support only for one server and then use downloaded updates to another 4 unsupported servers?

2. How can I do this in the best way?

3. Is this legal?

I don't think that's legal.
You could migrate those servers to CentOS to cut the costs, as CentOS is basically RHEL, just without the support, which, from what I understand, is what you actually pay for with Red Hat.

What does the license say?

If you are looking for the RedHat terms of service, then ask them.

If you are trying to get around the RedHat rules, then LQ cannot help you.

Please clarify your intentions.

I would recommend migrating to CentOS.

At work I am running 20 CentOS servers...and for our most critical applications (about 5) I run RHEL...

There really is no difference...We've actually have gone as far as developing on CentOS and deploying on RHEL without a problem...

There really is no difference...I think people just want the Red Hat brand...but really the only thing that's different between RHEL and CentOS (besides the name) is that Red Hat supports RHEL...
