Update Linux 3

I have installed Redhat Linux 3. Now I am trying to install Crystal Reports Server XI release 2. Crystal Server claims that it needs update 3. (I say it that way because my original server does not show as having update 3 but it is running Crystal Server just fine.) When I run the command:
$ cat /etc/redhat-release

both systems respond with:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon)

but I am expecting something like:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 3)

Where should I look to find the files and documentation that I need to update to Taroon 3?

Thanks,

Gregory

If both servers show "Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon)" then it means the working server does NOT have update 3 so that is NOT your issue.

What may be your issue is version differences in specific packages.

I'd suggest running "rpm -qa |sort >/tmp/rpm_qa.<hostname>" on both servers. Next scp the rpm_qa.sorted from one server to the other. Finally run a diff on the two files to see what the working system has that the non-working system doesn't have.

Of course RHEL3 is fairly old and has a 2.4 kernel. If you're building a new server why aren't you trying to move into something newer like RHEL5 (or even RHEL4) which has the 2.6 kernel?
