up2date

i have some RH 7.2 machines here that have some old packages on them that i want to upgrade...

specifically rsync. currently 2.4 is installed but not running correctly so i wanted to update to 2.5. There are lots of dependencies for 2.5 so i thought id try up2date to resolve them all for me and save me some headache.

my questions:

-will the command # up2date -i rsync install and resolve all the depends or do i need another switch like --solvedeps?

-will it overwrite my current rsync setup (which doesnt really work anyways)?

my goal is to simply update what i need to get rsync working... but i dont want to break any other programs while i do so. one of the dependencies is glibc which makes me a bit nervous for some reason.

thanks for the help!
