unzip on linux working kinda wierd ..

Hello all,

I am extracting a .ZIP file under Linux.

Basically, when doing so, one of the files in the .ZIP is supposed to come out as an executable - with the permissions looking something like:

rwxr-xr-x

But when extracting it, it comes out as :

-rw-r--r--

I extracted the SAME FILE a few months ago and got the first result

rwxr-xr-x

but I extract the SAME FILE this month (in December) and get:

-rw-r--r--

What gives???

TIA

Are you sure it came out properly before? ZIP files don't generally handle Unix-style permissions properly. In my experience it seems that either all of the files or none of the files will be executable when the archive is extracted, but never just the one you want.
