my evolution has a vFolder "unread mail",
but you can set it up using the vFolder editor,
create a rule with "status is unread"
(or maybe state, i am using the german version...)

thanks doc.nice but my version (2.2.3) does not seem to have the "status is unread" choice. All the others are there, it must be a bug ?

well, thats the same version I use. (debian apt package)
I switched my language to english, so I have the same menu structure...
I found out that there is no entry "unread" but only read, you have to use it with negation, in a nutshell
set rule "Status is not read"

here is exactely what I just tried sucessfully:

click "tools" menu
select "vFolder Editor..."
click "add"
enter Rule name "my_unread_mails"
Include theads "None"
Execute Actions "if all criteria are met"
set a criteria in the upper area
"Status" "is not" "Read"
set vFolder source to "with all local folders"
close rule dialog with "OK"
close vFolder list with "OK"
enjoy your new unread mail vFolder...

HTH,
Flo
