Hi,

By supplying the correct password or asking for a none-protected version by the author?

Please use capitals and an extra space at the beginning of every new sentence----and do not use texting shorthand here. (bcoz = because).

Where did you get this file? Without more information, we have to assume that it is locked for a reason.

The pdf is created by one of my friend .We are doing a project together i need it to edit this pdf for a presentation of our project. There is no password lock for the pdf. But he created it in window platform. He has not intentionally made it protected. But now we could not edit it using pdfedit.
I don't know why?
If you could help me then it will be very helpful.

Thanks for reply

Hi again,

What stops you from editing it on a windows machine?

It was created on one so I can only assume you or your friend have access to it.

Just my 2c.

Maybe ask him if it could be some setting in the Windows program that he hasn't noticed that caused the PDF to be protected?

Definitely fix the problem at the source. I've never had a problem opening PDF files from anyone, so I really doubt that this is a Linux issue.

As already stated, we are not going to discuss ways of getting around the password protection---get you friend to fix it or send the file in a different format.

???

What was your solution?

I'll assume that the OP took our advice and got the file fixed at the source. Since we are not going to have any discussion of how to hack into a protected file, I think we can put a wrap on this.
