Universal Linux configuration tool - is there any?
I've heard about Linuxconf.
Here is the official description: "Linuxconf is a sophisticated administration system for the Linux operating system. In many ways, Linuxconf is different from other administration schemes found on Unix operating systems and most other systems." So, any ideas? |
any ideas about what??!?! all you've done is give a blurb about a shitty program that was dropped years ago for being dangerous...
|
The only really unversal config tool for linux is vi :)
Individual distros are starting to have preety good centralized config systems, like mandrake does, but nothing really 'universal' like linuxconf was trying to be (but it's old news now days and can conflict with other config systems) |
Yeah, yeah, but Slackware doesn't got any builtin config system, like Mandrake's.
For a beginner, vi isn't the best solution, I think. :newbie: So, because of this I would like to try linuxconf. |
I used to use linuxconf, so sure, try it...
vi only works if you know what the heck it is you're editting :) |
And what about Webmin?
Mandrake does also have it. |
