Uninstalling non binary packages.

Hi there:
I installed a package consisting of sources and now want
to uninstall it. Is there an easy way of doing it? Does
it depend on the package? Any suggestion would be
appreciated. By the way, it is lame-398-2.tar.gz.
Thanks for reading.

Lame-398 has an 'uninstall' included in it's Makefile :

cd lame-398/
# make uninstall

Very helpful of you, knudfl. By the way. I want
to notify the system I'm no longer interested in the thread.
How do I do it? Main Menu>Site FAQ doesn't say. Is there
help or a tutorial? Regards.
