uninstalling driver
hi, i'm new at linux. i tried to install a modem driver yesterday, but something went wrong and now i want to uninstall it again. could somebody please give me a hint how to do that?
thanks, azzo |
exactly how did you install it? distro? was the driver a package or did you build it from source?
|
the driver's called hsfmodem-7.18.00.02full.gz. there was a file called "install" inside the archive, i just clicked on it and it did everything by itself.
actually, the driver's working, but only with 14,4k, so i want to try a different one. |
go back to the archive, and see if there is a file called "INSTALL" or "README", see if there are further instructions there. Very often in OSS, you can pass different parameters during compilation that will affect the overall outcome of the driver/software. I'm not sure if this will help you on this particular driver, but it's worth a shot.
