Uninstalled SuSe; GRUB Stops PC From Booting

Okay, here's the deal, I need help. If anyone has anything that can help me, please, post it, it'll be appreciated. I installed Suse along with Windows XP on a my laptop. They both worked fine. But, as time passed, I began to use Suse less and less, then the time came when my Windows' partition ran low on space, so I deleted the Suse partiton and changed it over to the NTFS format for Windows to use. All went good...... until, I hit the power button without thinking. I forgot to run the simple fdisk /fix command! So, when I went to turn the laptop back on the only thing that will come up is "GRUB" on a black screen. And I've tried to use a boot floppy, but it didn't work, it returned an "I/O Error". One of two things could've happened, one, simply a bad floppy, or two, I'm using an external floppy drive (maybe the PC can't read that).

So, since my laptop does have an internal CD-ROM drive, can I just burn the boot files to a CD, and simply boot from the CD? Plus, will it make a difference if I use the boot files from SP2, when my laptop is running on SP1 (do they both use the same files)?

Thanks.

in the windows xp cd you can boot up the recovery console and run fixmbr to remove grub.

The computer didn't come with the Windows CD, Windows was preinstalled.

And I can't open the boot floppy in Windows Explorer, due to the "Disc Not Formatted" error.
