I have installed Sirius 1.0.1 from a tar.gz file. Is there any way of uninstalling it and the huge number fo files it has downloaded?

Sirius

I followed the instructions on the Sirius website; all ran correctly with no errors reported.

$ tar xzf sirius-1.0.1.tar.gz
$ cd sirius/sirius-application
$ tar xzf question-answer.tar.gz
$ sudo ./get-dependencies.sh
$ sudo ./get-opencv.sh
$ ./get-kaldi.sh
$ ./compile-sirius-servers.sh

The .sh scripts do something, but without seeing them it's not possible to know. You can delete the files using the rm command, but you have to find out where they were installed. The scripts should tell you that, they're standard text files that can be read in any text editor or in the console by using the cat command. I would assume all the files are in the sirius/sirius-application directory, and if that's the case, just remove it via the rm -R command. That may not be the case, however, and you really need to find out where the scripts are putting the files. It's impossible to say for sure without seeing the scripts.

Sirius

I've searched for sirius files without success; during the installation a large number of files was downloaded but where they are is a mystery. I've decided, that since I have everything backed up I'll reinstall Mint 17.3 and solve the problem that way. Thank you for your interest and help

I just looked at sirius, and the installation is a total mess. I wouldn't even consider installing it as it is. It's rather obvious the developers are very inexperienced, just from the amateurish deployment so far.

You are quite right in the great mess the instructions create. I have reinstalled Mint17.3 (a quite quick job) and have therefore said goodbye to Sirius and all its works. Once bitten, twice shy! Thank you again.
