Uninstall Mozilla plugin
Hi there!
Today I installed a mozilla plugin. The thing is, it worked on 3 computers before (Win and Linux). Now with the same version of the plugin I have a problem. It won't install, because I do not have the permissons to do so ... hmm... ok I thought. Started Mozilla with "kdesu mozilla" and installed the plugin. Worked, great! But when I now try to start mozilla as user, it starts the processes ( ls -A | grep mozilla shows some entries) but no window comes up. My first guess is, that it is trying toload the installed plugin and fails because of mis-set permissons... Anyway, I tried to uninstall the plugin, but I could not find any menuentries for that... How can I do this, uninstall a plugin? Do I have to delete it on the console? And, how can I install the plugin as a user (from the web) ? Greetings, Sascha Update: Ok, got it to work by making the plugin readable for everyone in /usr/lib/mozilla/chrome/ ... but that can't be the normal way, can it? So, how to do it properly? |
instead of installing the plugin for all users and it going in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugin you can install it for the user only , firefox asks you which you want to do, but i'm not sure about mozilla. the user plugin dir is
~/.mozilla/plugins usually just making plugins world readable is the fastest way though. |
Hmmm... haven't been using FF for a while now... was too buggy ... and Mozilla does not ask you by default.
On my SuSE it works like it should, but in my Slack it doesn't .. it is like what I have written above... very strange... Greetings, Sascha |
you should try the latest firefox its really stable now.

What benefits does it give to me?
I am relatively satisfied with Mozilla so far... only thing it lacks of is an integrated notepad,... I know one for FireFox ... but only that can't take me to jump over... Would be nice, if you could tell what makes you using it, whats better in FF than in Moz in your opinion? Greetings, Sascha |
