Uninstall apache-tomcat-6.0.18

Hi!

I have apache-tomcat-6.0.18 installed in /opt of my linux machine.

I would like to uninstall it and reinstall properly.

I tried - yum remove tomcat

I get the following message
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Setting up Remove Process
No Match for argument: tomcat
No Packages marked for removal

But I find the tomcat directory and all its subdirectories inside.

Can some pl guide me on this?

If you read your post, you'll see what the problem is. You have apache-tomcat-6.0.18 installed, but are typing in "remove tomcat".

Try "yum remove apache-tomcat-6.0.18"....tomcat is NOT the name of the package.
