Problems with Unicode
I want to do a program in Java with Japanese characters. I read that Java uses unicode and I have been able to use swedish characters in variablenames and so on but when it comes to japanese characters I can't get it right.
I went to www.unicode.org and downloaded the Hiragana-file. So I just took a couple of characters and typed their code in the program (I used "\u3041" for "a", for example) but I just get an empty square. When I try other codes (for pi or "normal" letters) it's OK. I noticed that I also can't see the Japanese characters in firefox even if I go to View->Character Encoding and try to change it. No luck. Is there some sort of language- or font-package that I have to download? |
