You've started a long way down the route there. Is the ldap server even running on localhost? why are you referencing both the local machien and "ldap-server"? Where is that server? is it working in it's own right - can you do an ldapsearch of it? What problem are you actually having?

Hi,

Is the ldap server even running on localhost? yes
why are you referencing both the local machien and "ldap-server"? setup was like that, am very new to this environment.
Where is that server? both server and client are in same location.
is it working in it's own right - can you do an ldapsearch of it? it is not working
What problem are you actually having? unable to start the ldap service. if i start automatically it went down.

I do not have any clue about this environment.

Even i do not have knowledge in LDAP, somehow i troubleshooting with the help of google.

Kindly provide me some beginners documents to learn LDAP. Pllllzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz................

Regards,
Hariharan V
