Unable to start /etc/rc.local

To whom it may concern:

Who should read this thread
Penguins unable to run rc.local with a following message
Code:
Failed to start rc.local.service: Unit rc.local.service not found.
Possible workaround
Following steps worked with my penguin.
Code:
>systemctl disable rc-local
>systemctl enable rc-local
As of now, it looks okay, but I am not sure. If not, I will update.

System
Debian testing amd64

Happy Penguins.

I don't see anything amiss.

rc-local.service is the systemd service that runs the /etc/rc.local script at system start up.

/etc/rc.local must exist, is basically a shell script that contain commands to be executed and also have the executable permissions set.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, rc.local existed, executable. But did not run.

systemctl status rc-local.service did not look good (unfortunately, messages are gone). While troubleshooting, I did restart-daemon and several attempts. /etc/systemd/system/rc-local.service existed. The message showed up with systemctl start ... (if I remember correct)

I do not know what happened. But web search was not successful, I posted here. Apologies for insufficient description/information.

System: Debian amd64 testing.
