Unable to retrieve software information
 

Hi,

Whenever i try to install any package or try openning Add/Remove Software from the Application menu it give me this error
"Unable to retreive software information from server"

Right now there is no internet connection available on my pc and also why is this error coming even if i want to install any thing from a CD/DVD etc.

Help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

I assume you are using Fedora. The default setup in Fedora is to search for packages on the internet and thats why you are getting that error. If you want to use your discs as a package source, then take a look here and search on google for fedora+yum+dvd for more articles.
