unable to remove mysql from FC2

I want to remove mysql software from my Fedora Core2(kernel-2.6.7). I open 'add/remove application' interface on GNOME. Unchecked mysql database and remove it. Then I run 'rpm -qa' and mysql was still there. So I did the following things:

$ rpm -e mysql-3.23.58-9
error: Failed dependencies:
libmysqlclient.so.10 is needed by (installed)
perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9003-4

$ rpm -e perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9003-4
error: Failed dependencies:
perl-DBD-MySQL is needed by (installed) mysql-3.23.58-9

It seems that mysql and perl-DBD-MySQL are mutually dependent? I've never met this before. Anyone can help? Thanks in advance.
