unable to play mp3 &mpeg on opensuse 10.2

I installed open SUSE 10.2 ,but i was not able to play mp3 songs & mpeg videos .When i try to play mp3 ,an error occured.help please

The first thing I recommend is that you get rid of Suse. Get Ubuntu or fedora. Then install xmms, mplayer, and vlc.

Hmmm... since I'm using Suse since release 7.0 and have had always full multimedia capabilities, I have to disagree! Please, don't take this as a personal critique... it is just a thought! ksn12, first have a look at the article of reddazz (one of the moderator of Suse/novell forum). Then, would be helpful if you post some detail on what software are you trying to use and which errors do you obtain.

I am actually one of the moderators for Linux Software and its subforums. I write the openSUSE howtos because I use openSUSE on some of my desktops.

ksn12, try the steps I posted in the thread linked above. If you have any problems start a thread and I will try and help you solve them.
