Unable to install HP qlogic driver ...errors

I have been trying to install HP's driver (hp_qla2x00-8.02.23) on my linux server. I am on Redhat v 4.7 kernal 2.6. When I run the installer it states the following:

mv: cannot stat : 'lib/modules/2.6.9-78.ELsmp/build/drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/Kconfig': no such file or directory
cp: cannot create regular file '/lib/modules/2.6.9-78.Elsmp/build/drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/Kconfig': No such file or directory
Enabling failover failed

mv: cannot stat 'lib/modules/2.6.9-78.ELsmp/build/drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/Kconfig.old': No such file or directory

make clean
make: entering directory '/lib/modules/2.6.9-78.ELsmp/build'
make: Leaving directory '/lib/modules/2.6.9-78.ELsmp/build'

Make clean failed!
Driver build unsuccessful

I've read in many places that I need to install the kernel-devel package, which I have but I still get this error. I installed all the gcc and c++ compiler too. Anybody have any idea what the problem might be?

First, check to make sure you've got the RIGHT kernel-devel package installed. You may have one for a different kernel. Second, you're in a supported configuration, with paid-for support from both RedHat and your SAN vendor....those would be the first places I'd go to get help.
