Unable to find where required video plugin has been installed or how to run it.

When I see a page that says "Missing Plugin" and click on it, I'm not sure for example which plugin to choose from the list that I am redirected to for viewing videos. Even if I choose from the list, I am unable to find the path or plugin. The worst problem is that if I finally return to the page after "installing" the plugin, something is obviously wrong! I still see the same button saying the plugin is missing and can't view the video I need to. Thank you for any help I can get and I will learn to just post one thread/post at a time.

Details, please. What's your distro, what type of video etc.

If it's video and not flash, try installing VLC and the VLC mozilla plugin. Depending on your distribution the commands and the exact names of the packages are going to be different.
