Unable to find the logic....

Hi Friends,

I am sure this problem is with the DNs but not with the Sendmail application.

I have two mail addressess currently like

user_abc@mail.DNSSERVER.net (for internal communication and this server is behind the firewall-the same machine works as pop server and DNS also)

user_abc@DNSSERVER.com (for external communication and this server is a paid service by a thrid party hosting services.........currently we provide smtp and pop services through this server for people outside the country....)

I would like to remove the headache of having two mail-ID's because people are sending from internal account but unable to receive since neither the dns nor the smtp are registered in the INTERNET.

I wish to change the internal server's name and DNS from mail.DNSSERVER.net to DNSSERVER.com.as per the logic .. any user for example user_abc@DNSSERVER.com sends a mail to user_def@DNSSERVER.com
there is no problem..in sending and receiving......

but if a user user_abc@DNSSERVER.com sends a mail at user_xyz@DNSSERVER.com (who I mentioned earlier, is a user away from the internal server) will user_xyz@DNSSERVER.com be able to receive the mail ??????????????????????????????????

Certainly not... since internally DNSSERVER.com is a valid domain for all the users..

OR

Is there any way of implementing any shell script so that if the user is not found in the domain throw the mail into the INTERNET for searching the user...

Thank you all for patiently reading my mail...

Mahen
