Unable to execute miscellaneous executables in 2.6.15

I've just recompiled the kernel 2.6.15 (and finally noticed the power of make, before this I didn't think it was a great tool) to add some extra functionalities. Now I want to run miscellaneous executables: I have done everything the Documentation/binftm_misc.txt and Documentation/java.txt says, but I can't execute Java Classes.

To be more specific, I've added a line to the fstab file so it automounts binfmt_misc (it's mounted and without problems) and put the commands echo :Java:...:/usr/local/bin/javawrapper: >> /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc/register and the others (echo :Applet..., echo :ExecutableJAR..., etc) but it doesn't executes Java Classes. Trying with a typical HelloWorld class (with execution permissions) the command line responses: bash: ./HelloWorld.class: cannot execute binary file. I don't know what's wrong, the wrappers are correctly set in the strings and I copied them from the java.txt documentation... HELP!!!
