Unable to create directory


I have mount some paths from EMC server , but now I found that one of these paths is unable to create a directory ( the error as below ) , however , touch file is OK , can advise what is wrong ? thx

p.s. I use root user to do it.

mkdir: cannot create directory `bak': No space left on device

'df -h' to see if the volume is full. If there is free space, run fsck on the volume to fix the number of free nodes.
