Unable to boot in CentOS 5.4
Hi,
I recently upgraded to CentOS 5.4 from 5.3 . after rebooting, the grub is coming showing all the available OS's , when i choose CentOS in it, the screen goes off, monitor and cpu are still on..?? Please help..!! Thanks, Niks |
try booting into single mode. you can do this by selecting the kernel line at the grub menu
and editing it - appending the word single or S in the line like: kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.18-164.el5 ro root=/dev/vg00/lvsys00 rhgb quiet single then see if it'll boot into single mode. any chance you are using an nvidia graphics card? |
Hi,
I tried with what you have told.. it starts some services, and then directly command prompt comes.. i cant see any GUI for logging in, only black background and command prompt.. ?? |
