Unable to boot from floppy after Installing Red Hat 7.1
Hi peeps!
I have just installed Red Hat 7.1 server. I can't boot from the floppy anymore. When I set the BIOS to boot from floppy in CMOS, the machine boots and it even attempts to access the floppy drive, the light on the floppy drive will switch on for about 10 seconds then Linux would start. I am trying to dual-boot with Windows 2000 and I thought it would make my life easier to remove LILO from the MBR, but no DOS boot disk is currently being allowed to boot the machine up. It is beginning to annoy me! :smash: Could someone please help? Thanks |
Was windows 2000 already installed when you installed red hat? If it was and you chose an automatic install, then windows 2000 was erased. Read here
As for booting from a floppy, someone else had a similar problem. They changed the boot sequence, but it didn't work. There's one more setting they had to change in the bios to get it to work. I don't know remember what it was |
