un-cripple MPlayer?

I have recently installed SuSE 8.2, I need a video player that can play a lot of different formats (Mostly Div-X) and heard good things about MPlayer.

I tried to install it from my CD's but it tells me that it is a "crippled" version, I assume for patent reasons or some such bullshit. Anyway I still need a decent player (it must be able to play virtually anything) so can somebody tell me how I can un-cripple it?

Or failing that, anybody know where I can download a non-crippled binary of it? All I could find on the website was source and I'm too impatient for that.

You could maybe find rpm's at www.rpmfind.com or www.rpmseek.com, but they usually don't work right and are a pain with dependencies. Your best shot will be compiling from source. If you follow the read me at mplayer page, most likely will compile without a problem (I've compiled on Redhat 7.3, 9.0, Mandrake 9.0 and Slackware 9.0 without problems).

Good luck!
