The error message in the screen capture seems to indicate that a dependency might be missing. I regret that I'm too lazy to wade through the XML.

I gather that the only version for Linux is sources. Were there any errors during the compile?

Is there a log in /var/log.

It might also help to know what distro/version you are running.

There was no error during installation.
Here is a piece of my dpkg.log from /var/log directory which contains the log during ultracopier installation.
I am using Debian 9.2 64 bit.

A clean install. That's good.

I've never used ultracopier and know nothing about it, but I do know a bit about troubleshooting.

Is it a GUI program? If so, try starting it from a terminal and using it. It may throw some helpful error messages to terminal output. If it does, post them here, being sure to surround them with "code" tags, which become available when you click the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the "compose post" window.

Ultracopier is something like teracopy in Windows.
It is useful to transfer file since it has a pause button and many more features.
I attach a txt file which contains what I got from terminal.
It's longer than the maximum characters allowed so I can't post it here.
Sorry if it's too long, I just don't know which part is needed for troubleshooting so I copy it entirely.
I could only find something similar with the error log above :
( 6484) sessionLoader.cpp:32:setEnabled(), (location: Session loader plugin): unable to open in writing the file: No such file or directory

UltraCopier on Debian 9.2

Hi,
I have Debian 9.2 too, and tried also to install UltraCopier.
What I did so far :
- I downloaded the latest source (ultracopier-src-1.2.3.6.tar.xz) from their home page (https://ultracopier.first-world.info/download.html)
- Followed the installation instructions from their wiki (https://ultracopier-wiki.first-world...of_Ultracopier)

Everything works fine, but when I launch it I get a window asking for some key (see attachment).

I tried to compile both ultracopier-core.pro and ultracopier-all-in-one-direct.pro, like in the wiki, but this window keeps poping up.

I know there's a paid version (Ultracopier Ultimate), but isn't the free version supposed to be there too ?

How did you manage to install it on Debian 9.2 please ?

It seems like you need to purchase a license to get the key.

I install ultracopier using apt-get install ultracopier via terminal. For many reasons, it is better to install softwares using package manager like aptitude or synaptic than by download it from websites.

Make sure to have the correct repository on your /etc/apt/sources.list.
Mine are these :

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch main

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch-updates main

deb http://security.debian.org/ stretch/updates main

There was no problem during installation, but as you see, it cannot run on my computer.

Maybe you can try on yours since I'm quite sure that the problem is on my own system.
