Ultimate Dual Boot Setup, Help Needed
Hey All. I have a plan, but i want to plan it all out first and then document the procedure as a how to.
The general plan is to partition my laptop in 3 (ignoring Swap), a windows partition, a linux partition, and a co-operable Data partition thats shared between the two. The idea is to set the environment in windows and the symbolic links in linux so that the /home and Documents and Settings point to the same spot on the hard drive data partition, so that any changes applied in either operating system apply on the other. I know already how to change all the windows based variables and setting up the nessary links, but what im really looking for is a list of programs that'll work on both, eg Firefox, Thunderbird etc. What im wondering is if anyone has any suggestions for any other programs, I'm looksing specifically for a media library. Also, are google picase / desktop / earth likly to work in this secnario? Any advice would be great. |
I've seen the similar question in LQ already and it's here:
"path to firefox profile with dualboot system (winxpand SuseLinux)" this is the topic to search for. |
