Ubuntu: What packages installed?

Is there a way to find out what packages have been installed on an Ubuntu system.
I'm really just trying to find out if an ati driver was installed during the intial setup, but I figure knowing howto see what packages have been installed in general would be handy.

I'm thinking this may have something to do with an "apt" type command but I couldn't find it in any of the man pages.

Thanks.

An easier (GUI) way to use apt is via Synaptic. It can list all installed with a simple click :)

PS: For the CLI, see man apt-cache
