Ubuntu display problem

I installed Ubuntu breezy. It was installed successfully however after the boot up screen (Ubuntu icon) was seen. It says:

Failed to start X-server (your graphical interface). Would you like to view the X server output diagnose the problem?

Do I need to reconfigure gdm? If so, what are the changes that I need to make?

Have you looked at the X server output to see wwhat the error message is? I would suggest doing that first, because X will tell you what is wrong with it.
