Originally posted by DaBlade Lately every app I try to install with apt, I get this cursed error message. Same with synaptic. Make it go away! Please! I'm starting to see it in my dreams
Lol just kidding. But can someone help me get this annoying thing away? I tried build-deps, I tried installing dev packages, I tried all kinds of things, but it still appears.
I just selected a random package to demonstrate it.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
xvidcap: Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.2.ds1-21) but 2.3.2.ds1-20ubuntu13 is to be installed
xvidcap on Ubuntu works but mixing sources can seriously fork your system up.
I did the same thing with sources.list file when I installed Ubuntu 5.04 because it was the only way it would let me install anything that depends on libc6 library. But my question is did you remove the debian testing repositories line from the file after installation? I removed it because I was afraid that mixing debian and ubuntu packages could damage my system. I just used it to upgrade libc6 and the dependent packages.
