Which OS?
You can start with /var/log/messages and /var/log/boot.log
Depending on OS, it may be /var/log/syslog...
If you recognize any other log files from applications you are running on this machines, check them also.

What seems weird to me is that the Xorg log is perfectly normal. No sign of a fatal error. The only thing that is slightly odd is that you seem to have both nvidia and nouveau active. Most people who use the proprietary nvidia driver blacklist nouveau.

btw you can use the journalctl command to look at the systemd equivalent of syslog.

are you sure only the graphical desktop is affected?
maybe your whole system is unable to boot for some reason (hard drive full would be one wild guess)?

your google drive boot.log appears to be empty.

judging from the quality of your answer, I'd say:
  • reinstall
  • never try to compile anything again
ubuntu is as good & stable as any other operating system out there as long as you don't mess with the defaults.
