Ubuntu 12.04 Package Configuration Error Page
Ever since I re-installed Ubuntu 12.04 recently, I always see this so-called Package Configuration error display when I try to install any software package from the command line. It just would not go away and I can't make it go away. I realize that it must have been caused by some incorrect commands issued by me.
I'll appreciate any help from this forum.

Examples:
sudo apt-get install k3b
sudo apt-get install mplayer

Hi,
it seems you need either purge that package or accept the EULA (press Tab and then Enter).

evo2,
Thank you so much for your great advice. You've saved me tons of time and exasperation.
I really wish that the coder of this Package Configuration warning page had not done such a down-right bad job. Not everyone knows how to respond to such ambiguous writing.

Hi,
was the problem that you didn't know that you needed to select "<Ok>" or that you didn't know how to select "<Ok>"?
Cheers,
Evo2.

evo2,
My point is that the coder should not have assumed that everyone knows how to deal with an ambiguously written page. It would not hurt to tell the user to use the TAB key to proceed. The normal way to solicit an answer from the user is to provide a Yes button and a No button. The casual <OK> button can do more harm than good. At best it is ambiguous.

Hi,
that looks like the package maintainer is using the standard readline front end to debconf. However, I do agree that EULAs like that suck, but that's what you get with Microsoft.
Evo2.
PS. You can change which frontend debconf uses by reconfiguring the package with the same name. Eg
Code:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -plow debconf

evo2,
Thank you for this finer point of Linux knowledge. Your previous advice has enabled me to complete my installation of Mplayer and now my DVD drive works fine again.
I'll always remember your great help.
