ublock origin + tcpdump

I'd like to use tcpdump to log DNS queries and see what ad domains are most used in my case (to make the ad block lists shorter for mikrotik).

but, if the ublock origin is turned on, tcpdump can't log ad domains, right?

is there some other way to get dns 'statistics'?

thanks.

edit:
I read some more about ublock, and perhaps disabling "Disable pre-fetching" option would allow ad domains queries, while not displaying the ads?

isn't ublock origina mozilla addon, and tcpdump a system wide application?
are you saying you think that ad domains don't even get touched when ublock origin blocks them? you could be right there.

answering this question would require more information about your system & dns provider.

well ublock origin works in chrome too.
yes, it seems that it blocks dns queries for ad/malware.

I've disabled "Disable pre-fetching" and now queries get through, but ads don't show up, problem solved.
