two xsession questions

while i am in linux is it possible to start a second x session while one is running on display 0? if possible, how?

second question

thru putty how can i run a x program such as... gaim on the server

an Xsession is basically a spawn of X.
What you want is an xterm
try 'xterm' in your Xshell prompt.

putty as I understand it is the same as telnet.
if gaim has a command line interface you can run it, but in order to run giam
on someone elses machine they have to be running an Xserver and you must connect to it from the command line.

'man startx'
'man X'

X was designed for network functionality.

ok i screwed up my question

how can i run a second "session" of X like kde in one ctrlalt7 and gnome in ctrlal6 or something like that

and my second question if i have x running on the server and i connect to my linux box thru putty (from windows) how might i start an application that runs in x with out it giving me an error i don't want to see it thru putty i just want to run in on my linux machine
