two machines and two monitors

Hello everyhere:

My video card does not have dual port for monitor and I currently have two machines and either one has a monitor attached to it. The two machines can be connected together using LAN. And I wonder if I can use one machine's mouse and keyboard to control the two monitors or say to use the two monitors on different machine together to form one desktop.

I use slackware 10.2 and ati card installed, this information may be helpful.

If you have any idea, just tell me. Any useful help will raise my living condition.

Thanks!

I haven't tried this, but Synergy should let you do what you want: http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/

I use the program called "x2vnc," which does exactly what you need - controlling two computers with one set of mouse and keyboard.

All you have to do is run VNC server on one machine and connect to it from the other machine via x2vnc.
