TvTime

Hi all!

I am trying to run tvtime (tv capture app) on Fedora, but it says

videoinput: Cannot open capture device /dev/video0: No such device

I checked the /dev dir video0 is sitting there. Anyone know a fix for that?

Thank you!

don_dimo 05-15-2004 05:31 PM

Just to add up - I am using a PCI Brooktree 878 card, installed drivers from the video4linux site, all cables plugged in. It was working fine until I restarted comp .. now I cant figure it out???

auditek747 05-15-2004 06:01 PM

Did you try running as root?
You may need to change some permissions

don_dimo 05-15-2004 06:28 PM

yes i always run it as root - which permissions do I need to change???

Any suggestions guys .. I am really baffled by that, changed permissions to /dev/video0 to 777 still no work. I dont have a file /proc/video/dev/video0 which I used to have.. How do I get it back??

Be advised, I'm running Slack 9.1 (kernel 2.4.22) with i2c and v4l compiled in. (as mods)
Also ignore the "using 8 buffers" in dmesg, it's my own doing.
