Turning the metronome off in lmms?

How can I turn the metronome off in lmms? It seems like it should be a simple thing to do, but I don't see how.

you could always downgrade your lmms to the release without one. Try grepping the conf files for metronome.

At least in certain versions there is no way to do it.

But you can remove metronome sound this will do what you want.

In ubuntu: /usr/share/lmms/samples/misc/metronome01.ogg

In windows, you remove metronome01.ogg from C:\Program Files\LMMS\data\samples\misc, or rather cut and paste it elsewhere so that you can paste it back in case you ever want it again (thanks for the replies to this thread, that thing was driving me crazy, yes its hard to believe there's not a way in the user interface to turn it off _ 08 09 2015_ 00p58.
