Turn off GIMP splash screen?

Does anyone know of a way to make the splash screen not show up when GIMP starts?

Start GIMP as follows, "gimp -s" or "gimp --no-splash". If you start GIMP from a menu system or an icon, then you will need to adjust the command thats used to start gimp, so that it matches one of the two I mentioned.
