trying xfce: where's the start button?
I'm using debian 3.1, testing. So, of course I'm way behind the curve, I'm using 4.0.6. I like the look of xfce, also the speed.
I can't find any sort of application launcher. I've googled around, seems like there is supposed to something called xfce4-appfinder. But I can't it. I can't run it from an xterm either. I can't seem to install it either. |
Click the right mouse button somewhere on the desktop - should bring up a menu of applications.

Thanks. I would have probably figured that out in about a week.

You can also add things to the taskbar itself if you want. You should see little "arrow" buttons next to the default buttons on there - it should have an option on it to add another launcher.
I love XFCE myself - not all the bells and whistles of Gnome/KDE, but if you choose to install them, and don't change the default locations, most of the standard Gnome/KDE apps will appear "automagically" in that "right-click" menu. |
