trying to upgrade to apache2/php5 - going insane
Running debian 4.0 testing.
I had apache/php4 working fine. I removed them and installed apache2/php5. php5 seems to work. # php -v PHP 5.2.3-1+b1 (cli) (built: Jun 21 2007 20:58:46) Copyright (c) 1997-2007 The PHP Group Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2007 Zend Technologies I even go apache2 to work, but not with php. Even though I removed apache, the fact that it existed, I think, screws up apache2. For example, no httpd.conf was created. I tried removing the /etc/apache/ directory, but then apache2 would not install at all. I have tried installed, uninstalled, re-installed, many times. Have tried googling, and reading through these posts. I just can't figure this out. |
Possible forum to ask
This person has a website for Apache on Windows, but maybe someone there would have experience with both Windows and Linux. They have helped solve several problems for me.
Note: This is a tech person's personal site to help other tech people, so please note it is not a professional support site, but there are helpful people there. Generally it's very good, as the webmaster himself wrote a module to get newer versions of PHP and Apache working together on Windows (I was actually pointed there from Apache's website some time ago). http://www.apachelounge.com |
