trying to uninstall debian5 or dual boot with windows7
Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite L305-5921 laptop.
I have Debian5 on it but, would like to dual boot if possible; if not then I would like to know how to uninstall Debian5. My partition file reads: /dev/sda1 ext3 / 146.52GiB 4.85GiB(used) 141.67GiB(unused) /dev/sda2 extended 2.53GiB /dev/sad5 linux-swap 2.53GiB I am rather new at installing software and learning all the terms however, I'm not afraid to give it a try I just need a path to follow. Thank You |
You really can't uninstall an OS.
You pretty much have to reformat the disk and start over. You might be able to use something like parted to change the partitions and make room for a Windows partition. I've never used it; someone else will have to help you there. |
I'm assuming you're talking about dual-booting Windows, rather than another flavor of Linux, correct?
As frankbell said, you don't really uninstall an OS, you just reformat.
Those are the basic steps, feel free to ask if you get stuck on any one step (except for the "Install Windows" step :D ) |
