Trying to transfer from address book from outlook 2000 to thunderbird
I have a client how likes windows 2000, and office 2000. Her outlook box got too full and that totally killed outlook. Msft provides tools to fix this, but none of them work. I managed to switch her over to thunderbird, and I got the messages transferred over, but not the address book - only the email addresses transferred.
I can not export outlook 2000 into office 2002, and I don't think office 2007 will work either.
I have heard of transferring the addresses into outlook express, and then transferring to outlook. Will that work? Any other ideas?
To import contacts in Thunderbird, go to Tools > Import.
The Import dialog will open; choose Address Books and click Next.
Choose the email client from which you will import an address book, and click Next. (Alternatively, you can choose to export from outlook into LDIF, tab-delimited or comma-separated files, save & import.
If the operation was successful, you should receive a message like "Addresses successfully imported from [blank] - Imported address book contacts"
Hi, looking up in Ubuntu website help, it is suggested to put the address file in the right place, so not in the documents, where else to save it to, in order to import it under -tools, addressbook .
many thanks,
miramarcos
