Trying to resize partitions, listed as 'Read-only'?

I'm using QTParted via a rescue disc to remove my NTFS Windows partition and expand my Linux Ext3 partition to fill the space. Problem is QTParted lists the partiton as Read-only? Rescue disc is run entirely from a ram-disk and none of the drives are mounted??

Regards

Dom.

I am sorry that I donot know what QTParted is, but I think you should add something like
Code:
/dev/hda4 /mnt/hda4 ext3 defaults 0 0
in your file "/etc/fstab" to make /dev/hda4 mounted automatically after booting the system.

Get:

http://www.efense.com/helix CD

Change

/etc/fstab

after you boot the CD

and make the NTFS drive rw instead of ro. Qparted is on the helix CD, you just have to look around a little.
